SUMMARY
The role of the Senior Director of Florexpo Wholesale Sales is to manage all efforts by the company's entire sales team, strategically planning, budgeting, goal setting, pricing and launching new products or services while ensuring customer satisfaction. They also continually find ways to motivate team members to boost morale and retention. This position is responsible for creating and communicating sales goals and ways to achieve those goals. In addition, they prepare sales reports, build mutually beneficial relationships, and oversee new employee training and continued training for current employees. Represents Florexpo at global internal meetings for wholesale and GHT conventions.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTION OF THE JOB
Sales Director responsibilities include, directly or through sales team members:
- Developing and executing strategic plans to achieve sales targets and expand our customer base
- Owning and hitting/exceeding annual sales targets within assigned territory and accounts
- Building and maintaining strong, long-lasting customer relationships
- Create and communicate sales goals and ensure C-level executives are informed on the progress of those goals.
Partner with customers to understand their business needs and objectives
Effectively communicate the value proposition through proposals and presentations
Understand category-specific landscapes and trends
Reporting on forces that shift tactical budgets and strategic direction of accounts
Sales Director facility responsibilities include, directly or through corporate support:
Oversee key aspects of Florexpo business operations at dedicated facility
Management of all Florexpo incoming and outgoing inventory, product flow, including projections, forecasting and budgets
Oversees collections of wholesale sales
Ensures truck efficiency in coordination with transportation management
Drives operational efficiency in warehouse operations
Other duties as required
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Manages multiple direct sales employees. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
REQUIREMENTS
Seven (7) to ten (10) years of experience in managing a sales organization, with at least three (3) years as the executive level, preferably in the retail industry; ability to analyze sales trends, create sales programs, and develop relationship-sales
Knowledge of the floral industry or other perishable consumer goods product is preferred
Proven sales executive experience, meeting or exceeding targets
Previous experience as a sales executive, sales manager or sales and marketing director
Ability to communicate, present and influence all levels of the organization, including executive and C-level
Proven ability to drive the sales process from plan to close
Proven ability to articulate the distinct aspects of products and services
Proven ability to position products against competitors
Demonstrable experience as head of sales, developing client-focused, differentiated and achievable solutions
Excellent listening, negotiation and presentation skills
Excellent verbal and written communications skills
BA/BS degree or equivalent
Must be able to travel up to 25% of the time
Bilingual (Spanish) is a plus
