Administrative Assistant
Preti Flaherty, one of New England's largest law firms with offices in ME, NH, MA, and Washington, D.C., is seeking an experienced Administrative Assistant to join the firm. This position is based in our Boston, MA office and offers an engaging roster of work on behalf of Preti's regional and national clients.
The Administrative Assistant plays a key role in advancing the mission and goals of the Firm by completing a variety of essential tasks in support of smooth office operations and meaningful attorney support. They will manage typical office services functions, including reception tasks, as well as provides direct legal administrative support to one or more attorneys within the office.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Performs legal and social science research, drafts research memoranda, prepares court documents and correspondence, and proofreads and checks citations for complex legal documents.
- Performs regular administrative tasks such as coordinating meetings and travel, filing and maintaining records, scanning, copying, and preparing expense reports.
- Performs general office services tasks, such as answering and directing phone calls; handling email, faxes, files, mailings, and deliveries; coordinating meeting-room calendars; and daily processing of mail/personal service.
- Manages the front-desk and reception areas, serving as the first point of contact for guests, employees, job candidates, and vendors.
- Keeps the office clean, stocked, and organized, especially the kitchen, conference rooms, stockrooms, storage closets, and communal areas.
- Provides ad hoc overflow support to staff members and departments, including organization of on-site and off-site team events.
Education and Experience Required
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional work experience.
- 2+ years of experience in office administrative work.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Proven research abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Adaptability and willingness to learn new tasks.
- Professional demeanor and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
