Zimbra Developer

Job Title: Zimbra Developer (Remote within the United States, W2 only Contract)

Our client is seeking a skilled Zimbra Developer with expertise in Exchange ActiveSync (EAS) and Exchange Web Services (EWS) to support the integration of Outlook with Zimbra.

Responsibilities:

• Develop, enhance, and maintain EAS and EWS integration to enable Outlook-Zimbra compatibility.

• Implement and optimize synchronization of email, calendar, contacts, and tasks.

• Troubleshoot and resolve performance issues, sync failures, and EAS/EWS compatibility concerns.

• Work closely with backend engineers to improve interoperability between Zimbra and Microsoft Outlook.

• Ensure integration meets security and compliance standards.

• Create and maintain technical documentation and best practices for EAS/EWS integration.

Requirements:

• 3+ years of experience with EAS, EWS, and email protocols (IMAP, SMTP, CalDAV, CardDAV).

• Proficiency in backend development using C , Java, or Python.

• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Exchange, Outlook integration, and synchronization tools.

• Strong debugging and problem-solving skills related to email sync issues.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience contributing to open-source email systems (e.g., Zimbra, Cyrus, Dovecot).

• Familiarity with Zimbra architecture and APIs.

• Experience working in Linux environments and using scripting for automation.

• Understanding of OAuth2, authentication, and email-related security protocols.
