The Team

This is an exciting opportunity to join Knowsley's STEP Team, which has recently received permanent funding following a successful pilot period. The team operates under the Youth Justice Service with a partnership approach to tackling anti-social behaviour, crime, and exploitation. We seek individuals who are creative, resourceful, supportive, and genuinely committed to positively shaping the futures of children. Experience working directly with children and families is essential.

Team Mission

The team's goal is to provide a child-first, trauma-informed, and relationship-based service to reduce anti-social behaviour, prevent children from entering the criminal justice system, and address exploitation. We support vulnerable children impacted by adverse childhood experiences, ensuring our staff have the drive, passion, and commitment to make a difference.

The Role

As a Youth Engagement Worker, you will support children and families referred to the service by understanding their needs, planning strengths-based interventions, and delivering bespoke support. Engaging challenging children and families creatively and effectively is key, especially those impacted by exploitation, trauma, or adverse experiences. You will develop and deliver community projects aimed at positive outcomes for children, families, and communities in Knowsley.

Benefits

We offer flexible working options, including flexible hours, remote work, compressed hours, and part-time roles. You will receive regular supervision, support, and opportunities for professional development. We are committed to diversity and encourage applications from all backgrounds, especially from Black and Minority Ethnic communities and individuals with disabilities.
