Since 1972, Orlando Orthopaedic Center has remained independently owned and has grown to include 26 orthopaedic specialists across multiple subspecialties, many of whom are recognized leaders amongst their peers nationwide.
We have nine Orlando Orthopaedic Center locations throughout Central Florida, plus a state-of-the-art outpatient surgery center at the heart of our downtown campus located in the trendy SoDo Shopping District just south of downtown Orlando. To provide more immediate care, we have opened several orthopaedic injury walk-in clinics located throughout Orlando and the surrounding communities.

Position : SODO Assigned X-Ray Technologist
Responsible to : X-Ray Lead and SODO Branch Manager
Job Summary : Prepares patients to see the physicians, facilitate lab tests, diagnostic imaging reports and other paperwork needed. Assist physician with clinical duties as directed. Provide excellent quality images for the provider while maintaining efficient throughput and patient flow. May be called upon to cover any OOC X-ray site depending on the needs of the business and X-ray Technician availability.
Educational Requirements :
High school diploma required
ARRT Certified required
FL RT License required
CMA certificate desirable ARRT Certificate
Qualifications and Experience :
At least one year of experience performing X-rays; orthopaedic experience preferred
Proficient using email and word processing software
Knowledge of practice management and electronic health record software
Knowledge of digital imaging software; PACS experience preferred
Ability to perform multiple and diverse tasks simultaneously
Strong written and verbal communication skills and cheerful attitude
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Clinical Responsibilities :
Reports to any Orlando Orthopaedic Center Office as needed
Orders X-rays for physicians according to their specified protocols. Ensure patients are wearing proper attire
Enters patient's information into digital imaging software
Properly positions patient for specific X-ray views
Performs the X-rays and evaluates the quality of the images taken before submitting to PACS
Imports CDs of diagnostic images from outside imaging centers into PACS
Replenishes supplies and cleans exam/X-ray room
Sanitize X-ray table and image detector after each exam
Disposes of contaminated items according to OSHA guidelines
Other:
Maintains patient confidentiality; complies with HIPAA and compliance guidelines established by the practice
Maintains detailed knowledge of computer software as it relates to job functions
Attends CPR and OSHA training programs as required
Maintains certifications and registrations per state guidelines
Attends all regular meetings
Performs all other tasks and projects assigned by Manager or Physician
Reporting Responsibilities :
Time Off (PTO, call out sick): All requests will be directed to the Branch Manager first and then forwarded to the Radiology Supervisor to determine if coverage can be provided.
Equipment Problems (PACS, FUJI, GE Walker, Canon): Notify Radiology Supervisor and copy the Branch Manager. For immediate assistance call Radiology Supervisor at ext. 2502.
Staff/Patient issues: contact your Branch Manager.
Supervisory Responsibilities :
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
Typical Physical Demands :
Position requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination. Involves standing and walking for over an 8 hour day. Employee will occasionally be asked to lift and carry items weighing up to 30 pounds. Normal visual acuity and hearing are required. Employee will work under fast-paced conditions and work irregular hours. Employee will be exposed to biohazard materials on a regular basis
Typical Working Conditions :
Employee will have some exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances (ie: cleaning products), medicinal preparations and other conditions common to a clinic environment.
