Wound Care Supervisor

Wound Care Supervisor, FT, Piedmont Columbus Midtown

RESPONSIBLE FOR:
Supervises and coordinates the daily operations for inpatient and outpatient wound care and hyperbaric services. In addition, will be responsible for the assessment, evaluation, and treatment of patients, specifically those with acute and/or chronic wounds, and education as well as management of fistulae, tubes, skin, and incontinence issues. Works in conjunction with physicians, nursing staff and ancillary staff to evaluate, propose, plan and perform patient assessment and treatments.


Qualifications:

MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED:
Bachelors, Masters and/or Doctorate Degree in Nursing, Physical Therapy or Occupational Therapy

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Three (3) years of clinical experience preferred in wound or ostomy care and management.

MINIMUM LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED BY LAW:
Current licensure in the State of Georgia as a healthcare professional.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
BLS certification through AHA and Certified Wound Care Specialist (CWS) and/or Certified Wound Ostomy Continence Nurse (CWOCN) preferred. Experience with scheduling, projects to improve quality, and provided leadership roles. Requires tact, discretion, diplomacy, and ability to work effectively with others. Must have sensory skills to differentiate clinical signs and symptoms and the emotional stamina to deal with a variety of stressful situations including emergency response to patient incident. The individual must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the lifespan and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patients status. The individual interprets the appropriate information needed to identify each patients requirements relative to his or her age specific needs.
