Omni Wound Physicians (OWP) is expanding across Massachusetts, with opportunities in Boston, Worcester, Norwood, Springfield, Lowell, Cambridge, and other key regions. Our mobile wound care team provides high-quality, specialized wound care directly to skilled nursing facilities, long-term care centers, and private residences. We are committed to improving patient outcomes, reducing hospital readmissions, and expanding access to wound care across urban and rural communities.


We are seeking dedicated and skilled Wound Care Medical Doctors (MDs) to lead mobile wound care services in their designated regions. Whether you prefer major metropolitan areas or underserved communities, we have opportunities aligned with your expertise.

  • Central Massachusetts (Worcester, Fitchburg, Leominster, Marlborough, Shrewsbury)

  • Western Massachusetts (Springfield, Chicopee, Holyoke, Pittsfield, Westfield)

  • Northeastern Massachusetts (Lowell, Lawrence, Haverhill, Methuen, Andover)

  • Southeastern Massachusetts (New Bedford, Fall River, Taunton, Brockton, Attleboro)

  • Rural & Underserved Areas Across Massachusetts


Our team covers both urban and rural areas, ensuring that patients across Massachusetts receive high-quality wound care services wherever they are needed.


Schedule & Shift Options
  • Minimum Scheduling Requirement: At least two shifts per work week.

  • Shifts: Typically between 7:00 AM 7:00 PM local time (subject to change based on business needs).

  • Full-Time: Minimum 30+ hours per week (includes full benefits package).

  • Part-Time: Minimum 2 shifts per week (paid sick time accrual available).

  • On-Call & Weekend Coverage: Some on-call or weekend coverage may be required, but team members will typically be notified in advance to ensure personal commitments are not interrupted whenever possible.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate, diagnose, and manage acute and chronic wounds, including venous, arterial, diabetic, pressure, and post-surgical wounds.

  • Perform sharp and excisional debridement, NPWT management, tissue biopsies, and gastrostomy tube care.

  • Monitor healing progress, adjust therapies based on clinical outcomes, and ensure adherence to advanced wound healing protocols.

  • Provide wound care training and preventive education to patients, caregivers, and facility staff.

  • Maintain accurate, timely, and HIPAA-compliant records in Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems.

  • Travel miles daily to multiple care sites, ensuring seamless patient care across Massachusetts diverse regions.

  • Assist in workflow optimization, team training, and other duties as assigned to support expansion efforts.


Qualifications & Experience

Required:

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree

  • Active, unrestricted medical license in Massachusetts

  • Board certification in a relevant specialty (Surgery preferred; OB/GYN, Internal Medicine, or Family Medicine also accepted)

  • Minimum of 3 6 years of clinical practice in wound care, geriatrics, internal medicine, emergency medicine, or related specialties

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

  • Reliable transportation and a valid unrestricted Massachusetts driver s license


Preferred:

  • Wound Care Certification (CWSP, CWS) or ability to obtain within six months

  • DEA registration for prescriptive authority (preferred but not required)

  • Experience in skilled nursing, long-term care, or home health settings

  • Proficiency with EHR systems and workflow efficiency tools


Regulatory & Compliance Requirements Massachusetts

Massachusetts provides full-practice authority to physicians, allowing MDs and DOs to independently diagnose, treat, and manage patient care. Key regulatory considerations include:


  • Prescriptive Authority Physicians may prescribe medications, including Schedule II-V controlled substances, upon obtaining state and federal registration.

  • Continuing Medical Education (CME) Requirements Physicians must complete 100 CME hours every two years, including topics such as pain management and opioid prescribing.

  • State-Specific Licensing & Renewal Physicians must renew their medical license biennially through the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Medicine.
