We have an excellent opportunity for a Workshop Supervisor (Manager) at Stanley Ferry, Wakefield. Reporting to the National Workshops Manager, you will facilitate the efficient operation of the team in building, supplying, and repairing lock gates and parts, adhering to safety standards, Trust policies, and heritage standards. We seek an organized, engaging manager who prioritizes positive customer experience and health and safety standards.
Experience in Carpentry/Joinery production is advantageous but not essential.

Location & Working Hours
The role is based at Stanley Ferry, Ferry Lane, Wakefield, Yorkshire WF3 4LZ, working 5 days a week.
Working hours are 07:30 - 16:00 Monday to Thursday and 07:30 - 12:30 on Fridays.
Knowledge, Skills/Qualifications & Experience
The Workshop Supervisor oversees all workshop manufacturing and fabrication activities, ensuring jobs are completed on schedule, within budget, and to quality and safety standards. You will manage a team of up to 10 operatives, organize workloads, ensure materials are available, and facilitate efficient workflow. Liaison with other teams, suppliers, and customers is also required.
Key experience includes:
- People management in manufacturing/production.
- Process planning and improvement experience.
- Implementation of health and safety practices, with opportunities to attain a NEBOSH qualification.
- Proficiency in 2D & 3D CAD; courses available for further development.
