Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Works/Production Manager to oversee the manufacturing and production operations at our facility. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring efficient production processes, maintaining high-quality standards, managing staff, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the daily production and manufacturing operations, ensuring efficiency, productivity, and quality targets are met.
  • Develop and implement production schedules to meet customer demands and company objectives.
  • Manage and supervise production staff, providing leadership, training, and performance management.
  • Monitor and optimise production processes to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and control costs.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards.
  • Maintain and enforce quality control measures, identifying and addressing issues promptly.
  • Work closely with procurement, logistics, and maintenance teams to ensure smooth operations.
  • Implement and drive lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Analyse production data and prepare reports to track performance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Lead problem-solving activities and provide solutions to production challenges.
  • Ensure proper maintenance and availability of machinery and equipment.
  • Foster a positive and productive work environment, encouraging teamwork and innovation.

Key Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Works Manager, Production Manager, or similar role in a manufacturing environment (5+ years).
  • Strong knowledge of production management principles, lean manufacturing, and process improvement.
  • Excellent leadership and people management skills with the ability to motivate and develop teams.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and decision-making skills.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations and quality assurance processes.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in production planning and reporting tools.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Degree or equivalent qualification in Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field (preferred).
  • AutoCAD beneficial.
