The Workover Engineer Sr for our client will be a member of company's Drilling, Completion & Workover team at the company's Houston office reporting to the Workover Engineering Manager.
Specific role will be a Workover Engineer focused on overseeing workover operations in the Permian region.
This role will be primarily responsible for the following:
â Generate cost estimates and AFEs by GL codes associated with planned work scopes
â Develop step-by-step procedures to achieve specified well objectives safely and efficiently
â Procedures will incorporate engineering controls, provide guidance on well control equipment and practices, and comply with company safety regulations and standards
â Provide Engineering support for multiple workover rigs including procedures, troubleshooting downhole tools, make recommendations during fishing operations
â Recommend and develop processes and guidelines for well-workover operations
â Conduct historical well review to support procedural recommendations
â Engage with other functions and asset leadership to manage process execution discrepancies & scope changes
â Develop and monitor KPI reporting of the workover operations with respect to spend, delivery of planned objectives, and scheduling (planned vs actuals)
â Manage expenditures and performance relative to AFE'd budgets and communicate variances
â Ensure regulatory compliance during T&A and P&A operations.
Qualifications & Experience:
The successful candidate will have the following qualifications and experience:
â Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering or related engineering discipline
â Experience in Engineering with 5+ years E&P company experience in Production, Well Interventions, Operations, or Operations Support
â Minimum of 2 to 3 years of experience developing procedures to workover wells with artificial lift equipment including rod pump, ESP, or gaslift
â Working knowledge of downhole tools and equipment
â Good verbal and written communication skills
â Proficient with computer software: Microsoft Suite, Wellview, and Spotfire
â Ability to work flexible work schedule, including long and/or irregular hour
â Experience developing Completion Design and supervising frac or drillout operations a plus
