Workers' Compensation Associate Attorney

Salary: $120,000 - $170,000 per year
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Full representation of clients in workers' compensation claims from initiation to conclusion.
- Active management of caseloads including negotiation, settlement, and some aspects of litigation.
- Drafting and preparation of critical legal documents, including motions, petitions, and discovery requests.
- Appearance at hearings and depositions before the Workers' Compensation Appeals Board (WCAB).
- Collaboration with medical and vocational experts to build and strengthen client cases.
- Proactive communication with clients to keep them informed about the progress of their cases and strategies employed on their behalf.
Minimum Position Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Current licensure to practice law in the state of California.
- Minimum of one year experience in workers' compensation law, either on the plaintiff or defense side.
- Strong foundational skills in litigation, including proven ability to effectively negotiate and draft legal documentation.
- Excellent organizational and time management capabilities.
- Client-focused approach and excellent interpersonal communication skills.
- Demonstrated passion for advocating on behalf of injured workers.
Preferred Qualifications:
- More than three years of specialized experience in workers' compensation law.
- Proven track record of achieving favorable settlements in complex cases.
- Experience with trial advocacy and WCAB proceedings.
- Strong analytical abilities and capacity for strategic thinking.
- Prior experience in a client-facing role, demonstrating ability to manage and exceed client expectations.
