As a Workers Comp Safety Manager, you will assist with initiating WC & insurance claims, reporting, tracking, maintaining safety records and assist with safety training. This position upholds and supports all safety rules, policies and regulations in the assigned region as set forth by the company standards and under the guidelines of the local branch leadership. He/she is involved in day-to-day safety trainings, Monthly OSHA trainings, and equipment certification training as needed.

Must be bilingual in Spanish & English and be proactive in partnering with the crew members and branch management to create a cohesive & continuous safety environment for all.

This position will require frequent daily travel within the Northern CA market to include: San Jose, Palo Alto & Hayward. Candidates residing in or near these areas are highly preferred.

HIGHLIGHTS of what our Workers Comp Safety Manager will do, but not limited to:

  • Plans and implements safety policies and procedures in compliance with local, state, and federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) rules and regulations
  • Handles Worker's Compensation claims, writes reports and submits to the insurance carrier
  • Writes automobile accident reports, consults with management for disposition and/or referral to the insurance carrier and compiles and submits accident reports required by regulatory agencies
  • Maintains constant contact with the adjusters to manage and control Worker's Compensation claims and automobile claims
  • Maintains an Accident Log and remits monthly reports to Corporate and Branch management
  • Plans and implements programs to train managers and employees in work site safety practices, fire prevention, and correct handling techniques for chemicals, toxins, equipment, and other materials.
  • Conducts safety training classes and new hire orientation to company employees.
  • Inspects organization facilities to detect existing or potential accident and health hazards, determines corrective or preventative measures where indicated, and follows up to ensure measures have been implemented
  • Provides information, signs, posters, barriers, and other materials to warn of potential and actual safety hazards and to prevent access to hazardous conditions.

Are you the right fit for this role?

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE that are necessary as a Workers Comp Safety Manager will include, but not limited to:

  • Must be bilingual Spanish
  • High School or GED
  • 2+ years of related experience in Safety within the landscape or construction industry
  • Valid driver's license in good standing
  • Proficient in MS Office

SALARY RANGE:

  • $80,000 - $85,000 per year (specific compensation may vary based on overall skills, experience, and location).
