The Workday Data Engineer will develop, maintain, and optimize data pipelines Hamilton College's Workday enterprise cloud application. This role will integrate data from various campus systems into a central data lake and warehouse for reporting, analytics, and system interoperability. This role requires expertise in data integration, transformation, and governance to ensure high-quality, accessible, and secure data across the institution.
The ideal candidate will have:
- a minimum of one year demonstrated Workday API integration, EIB, Workday Studio, and RaaS custom report experience,
- ETL and/or iPaaS solution knowledge,
- data warehouse skills, and
- a strong commitment to customer relationships
This is a full-time, exempt, fixed term position ending on June 30, 2028, with a pay rate of $95,000.
Responsibilities - Data Integration & Management
- Develop and maintain data pipelines for efficient data movement across enterprise systems, data warehouses, and data lakes.
- Implement batch and real-time data integrations using ETL and iPaaS solutions.
- Design and manage data structures for optimized storage, retrieval, and reporting.
- Maintain cloud-based and/or on-premises integration platforms.
- Collaboration & Support
- Partner with campus data analysts to ensure data availability and usability for reporting, analytics, and visualization.
- Establish and manage interfaces between data repositories and analytics tools.
- Provide guidance on connecting analytics software to institutional data sources.
- Manage data access and security permissions.
- Data Governance & Security
- Support enterprise-wide data governance initiatives to improve data quality and ensure compliance with security policies.
- Assist in the implementation of data protection strategies, governance frameworks, and standardization efforts.
- Technology & Innovation
- Stay informed of emerging data technologies, tools, and best practices to enhance institutional data capabilities.
- Recommend improvements for data management strategies and technical infrastructure.
