General Description
This role is critical in supporting attorneys and legal staff with high-quality document preparation, formatting, and management.
Essential Job Duties:
Create and revise legal documents to Firm's specifications using the Firm's latest software and version of MS Office.
Create, revise, and format legal documents such as contracts, pleadings, briefs, and Preliminary Official Statements, agreements, and presentations.
Generate Table of Contents and Table of Authorities.
Convert Preliminary Official Statement tables from Excel to Word.
Advanced Skill Level required in using Adobe Acrobat Pro tools, including creating fillable forms and converting Adobe PDF documents to Microsoft Word.
Communicate clearly and effectively with personnel from all levels of the Firm, including partners and associates.
Troubleshoot document formatting and layout issues.
Organize and manage digital files in the firm's document management system.
Proofread work for quality and correct formatting.
Utilize redlining and track changes tools to edit and revise legal documents while maintaining clarity and accuracy.
Provide document support to users utilizing remote access.
Coordinate and communicate with Word Processing team members regarding workflow and other issues.
Maintain an accurate diary log of all work performed.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications/Requirements:
Proven experience working as a word processor, legal assistant, or similar role (experience in a law firm is preferred).
High School diploma or GED equivalent required.
Advanced proficiency in MS Office Suite; intermediate level knowledge of PowerPoint, Excel and Adobe products.
Knowledge of software specific to the legal industry: Innova, Litera Compare, Litera Create, DocXtools, Best Authority, and Net Docs preferred.
Strong typing (minimum typing speed 75 wpm) and editing skills with attention to detail.
