Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and energetic Wok Cook to join our back-of-house team. The ideal candidate has experience with high-heat wok cooking, works cleanly and efficiently under pressure, and is passionate about Latin American fusion cuisine. You'll be responsible for executing stir-fried dishes to order while upholding kitchen standards and flavor authenticity.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and cook all wok-based dishes to spec (e.g., lomo saltado, chaufa, tallarín) using traditional techniques and high heat.
  • Set up and stock the wok station with necessary ingredients, sauces, and utensils.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the wok area throughout service.
  • Ensure consistency in taste, portioning, and presentation for every plate.
  • Coordinate timing with other stations to ensure smooth service flow.
  • Assist with prep work, sauces, and other tasks as assigned by the Head Chef.
  • Follow all food safety and sanitation procedures.
  • Adapt quickly to menu changes or specials and contribute ideas when appropriate.
Qualifications:
  • 1-2 years of experience as a wok cook or in a fast-paced sauté station.
  • Strong knife skills and understanding of stir-fry techniques and heat control.
  • Familiarity with Latin American or Asian-Latin fusion cooking a strong plus.
  • Ability to work quickly and maintain focus during busy shifts.
  • Reliability, punctuality, and strong communication skills.
  • Ability to lift 40 lbs and stand for extended periods.
