We are looking for someone who loves numbers AND working with people. The Program Reporting and Analysis Unit (PRAU) measures and reports the effectiveness of the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA); a law designed to assist job seekers get back into the workforce or improve their skills to get better jobs. Using the CalJOBS system, California's workforce website, staff gather and analyze the data entered in by local career centers. The data and reports that are generated in CalJOBS are then validated and reported to the Department of Labor (DOL) on a quarterly and annual basis. This is done to measure performance outcomes for individuals that are served under WIOA.
To ensure that local career centers comply with WIOA, staff provide assistance to the career centers that come into direct contact with job seekers. These career centers administrators may contact our unit about various questions regarding either the federal programs that we help oversee or the data and reports in CalJOBS. In order to provide assistance to the career centers, staff refer back to laws and guidance provided by DOL. Because the majority of work that staff are involved in is with the data and reports in the CalJOBS system, testing the functionality of the CalJOBS system and submitting fixes to the website's vendor is often required.
So if you're someone who likes solving puzzles, working with data or coming up with solutions to problems, then this is the job for you.
