Windows Engineer

As a Windows Engineer in the Insurance team, this position emphasis is on technical server support for development teams that requires an engineer with a well-rounded background. We are looking for an individual with experience that can contribute to an Agile Team providing administration, support, and consultation for the Windows server environment. In addition, the position will work with all IS infrastructure and development teams, delivering solutions and supporting of backlog items within the ecosystem.

What You'll Do:
  • Server administration for third party applications as well as applications developed in-house.
  • Monitor system performance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Participate in upgrading of Windows servers, migrating applications and coordinating changes with user community.
  • Assist in troubleshooting of failed/poor performing applications.
  • Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to Windows systems and applications.
  • Document problem resolutions and implement preventative measures.
  • Provide and update architectural diagrams using Microsoft Visio
  • Collaborate in Agile Team ceremonies.
  • Provide technical training and consultation to other members of the IT organization.
  • Be on a rotational on-call schedule to resolve production system problems.
  • Participate in the automation of deployments in a CI/CD pipeline.
  • Investigate and recommend new methods, procedures, tools, and technologies. Participate with other IT professionals to evaluate new technologies in the market and recommend cohesive direction for the IT organization.
  • Drive scripting and automation to develop solutions to common problems.
  • Security vulnerability remediation.
What You'll Need:
  • Extensive experience as a Windows engineer.
  • Strong PowerShell scripting skills.
  • Effective analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Teamwork and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with physical and virtual Windows servers in an enterprise level environment.
  • Must be comfortable working with mission critical and sensitive systems, with a sense of urgency appropriate to the responsibilities.
  • Excellent communications skills with the ability to communicate with internal/external customers, vendors, management etc. in both formal and informal situations.
  • Experience with any of the following technologies desired -
    • Active Directory, DNS, Kerberos, and multi-platform authentication/identification environments.
    • Jenkins or related CI/CD pipeline technologies
    • Microsoft SCOM, Splunk, Rapid 7, or Extrahop
    • Ansible
    • Server Security protocols and firewall ports
    • IIS, Websphere, Tomcat
    • Networking; IPv4, switching, routing, firewalls and HA architecture.
    • CyberARK
    • MuleSoft
    • FileNet
    • Kofax
    • Amazon AWS is a plus


The starting pay range for this position is:

$106,900.00 - $142,200.00
Additionally, for full time positions, you will be eligible to participate in our incentive program based upon the achievement of organization, team and personal performance.
