About the job

The Wholesale Account Manager Develops business partnerships with wholesaler/chain accounts to maximize company profitability. The account size and scope will vary based on opportunity and geographical location. This position develops business partnerships within wholesale accounts to maximize profitability. Call on new opportunity chain/direct accounts to increase business. Up to 75% travel will be required for this role. This position has no personnel management responsibilities and reports to the Director, Wholesale & Metro Markets. The normal shift is 40-hours per week in the field with periodic extended hours as needed. Some weekend travel/work may be necessary. This position may be assigned other duties as determined by the Supervisor.

Essential Functions
  • Responsible to manage and grow sales and revenue against a set book of business.
  • Analyze market data to develop business plans, presentations, account-specific recommendations, and to assess emerging trends/competitive activities;
  • Develop chain/direct account store coverage plans with the Field Sales Organization;
  • Sell/manage business in direct/wholesale locations as well as chain accounts. Execute and deliver on plans.
  • Acquire information by visiting retail locations and direct customers. Communicate insights to customer and supervisor.
Minimum Qualifications
  • 3+ years of experience;
  • Knowledgeable of all company products and processes;
  • Expertise in large-scale project management;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with all levels of the organization;
  • Strong business planning, financial fact-based selling skills; good written/oral communication and presentation skills
  • Must have, and maintain, a valid driver's license and clean driving record
  • Extensive car travel and overnight stays required; must possess ability to work independently and autonomously
  • Demonstrated proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and the ability to learn new systems quickly
  • Good analytical skills; ability to interpret/communicate industry data
  • Strong business math concepts (i.e. gross margins, selling price, COGS, ROI, etc.)
  • General awareness knowledge of the ISO9001 Quality Management System requirements, company Quality Policy and your contributions to the effectiveness of the QMS
  • Responsible for being knowledgeable of and acting in strict accordance with the requirements of all relevant laws, regulations, and Company policies, including, among other areas, Food and Drug Administration regulations
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree from a 4-year college or university, preferred. 3 - 5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered
  • Tobacco/consumer packaged goods sales experience
