About the Opportunity: Job Title:Welder Pay Rate Range:$22/Hour Location:Plymouth, MN Schedule:1st Shift Mon-Thurs 6:50AM-3:20PM with required O/T from time to time Position Type:Temp to Hire Welder Requirements and Qualifications:
- One-year certificate from college or technical school and five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentage and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Stand more than 2/3 of the time
- Walk less than 1/3 of the time
- Sit under 1/3 of the time
- Use hands and fingers and arms over 2/3 of the time
- No Kneeling, Crawling, Stooping, or Climbing
- Lifting items 10-25 pounds 2/3 of the time
- Lifting items under 50 pounds 1/3 of the time
- No lifting items over 50 pounds.
Welder Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for welding on a variety of items which may be subject to heavy stress or load. Usually welding for mechanical strength.
- Responsible for the quality of work performed in the welding area.
- Accountable for using caution in handling equipment, tools, and parts.
- Responsible for the general maintenance of both machinery and plant area, including cleaning and maintenance of welding machines and all tools involved in daily production.
- Responsible for good housekeeping practices in the welding area.
- Abides by all policies, procedures, and guidelines of the company including good common sense safety practices.
- Performs all job assignments as instructed by the Group Lead, Assistant Plant Manager and/or Vice President, Operations.
