A structural engineering company on the outskirts of Saffron Walden, Essex are currently looking to recruit a Welder / Fabricator.
This will lead to a permanent position after a successful 3-month period. This position is paying between 14 - 18 per hour, depending upon experience.
Summary:
The role requires a skilled individual to weld and fabricate structural components such as beams and columns. Responsibilities include drilling, operating guillotines and saws, as well as using fabrication equipment such as a brake press, hydraulic punch, plasma cutter, and fly press.
What does the position involve:
- As a Welder / Fabricator, you will be reading from technical drawings
- MIG & TIG welding thicknesses from 2mm - 35mm
- TIG welding of stainless steel for handrails
- Welding & fabricating of balustrades, gates, stairs, railings and bespoke metal structures
- Conduct quality checks to ensure the accuracy of welds
- Unloading & loading lorries where required
Candidate requirements:
- Driving Licence required due to the location of the site
- NVQ/Diploma, apprenticeship or similar qualification within welding/fabricating
- Ability to read from technical drawings proficiently
- Ability to work well within a team and to own initiative
Hours of work:
- Monday - Friday, 8am - 4:30pm
