The Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services (DPHHS) has a career opportunity within the Director's Office. The Website Developer supports staff across the agency's 12 divisions to create, modify, or develop innovative designs to enhance website content. While working within the Communications Office (CO) team and agency website editors and publishers, the incumbent will lead an effort and develop a plan to improve the overall website design and structure. Essential technical skills include expert abilities in website page design, web publishing, thorough knowledge of web page construction, and strong project management skills. Duties include working with others on the CO team to ensure adequate usability, accessibility, and performance of the website. This position will also contribute to the effort to provide training for staff to ensure documents are Section 508 compliant. The position provides website training and supports Moodle, GovDelivery, AccessGov, and ARC-GIS platforms. Qualifications for this Career Opportunity Expert abilities in web publishing, thorough knowledge of web page construction, including thorough knowledge of Hyper Text Markup Language (HTML), JavaScript, CSS, and graphics packages such as the Adobe Creative Suite. Ability to create and quickly implement clear, effective web pages. Familiarity with SASS is desired. Knowledge of rules and regulations regarding websites (disability regulations, legal disclaimers, proper content, etc.). Knowledge of web standards such as Section 508 and ability to develop content-rich solutions in a standards-compliant environment. Familiarity with content management systems. Meet minimum qualifications: o Combination of education and experience equivalent to a bachelor's degree in graphic design, Information Technology, English, Communications, Information Management, Journalism, Marketing, or a closely related field, or a combination of education and experience equivalent to a bachelor's degree. o Two years of progressively responsible related experience of professional web-based content management, including web page layout, content, and design; electronic/web publishing or web editing and content management, and internet research. Other combinations of education and experience will be considered on a case-by-case basis. o Preferred work experience includes Figma, EnVision, Canva, graphic design, web design, writing web content, electronic marketing, metadata, designing or maintaining websites, and social media. o Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
