Summary/Objective

The part-time Web Content Developer reports to the Marketing Director and will be responsible for creating, updating, and managing content across our website while also supporting basic web development needs. This role is perfect for someone who is equal parts creative writer and technical problem-solver.

Essential Functions
  • Write, edit, and publish web content (project descriptions, blog posts, team bios, service pages, etc.)
  • Update and maintain the Jaynes website using WordPress and/or Beaver Builder
  • Ensure web pages are SEO-optimized and follow best practices
  • Collaborate to gather information for new content
  • Design and build new web pages or landing pages as needed
  • Troubleshoot and fix basic website issues (e.g., broken links, formatting problems, plugin conflicts)
  • Monitor website performance and recommend improvements
  • Maintain brand consistency in all web content
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Digital Media, Public Relations, Journalism, Computer Science, or related field
  • 5 years of content strategy experience at an agency or in-house creative company
  • 3+ years of experience in web content creation and web development
  • Proficiency with WordPress (required); familiarity with HTML, CSS, and basic JavaScript is a plus
  • Strong writing and editing skills with a keen eye for detail
  • Understanding of SEO principles and how to apply them to web content
  • Basic graphic design skills using Photoshop and/or Lightroom are a bonus
  • Ability to manage projects independently and meet deadlines
  • Familiarity with Google Analytics, SEO tools (e.g., SEMrush, Ahrefs), and website performance optimization
  • Advantageous to be fluent in Spanish (written and verbal), but not required
  • Experience working in the same capacity in the Architecture/Engineering/Construction industry is a bonus

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

This is largely a sedentary role; however, this position may occasionally require the ability to lift and move up to 25 pounds of paper, files, and/or equipment. This position requires the ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time to enter data into multiple systems and conduct face-to-face meetings or interviews.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a part-time non-union position. The scheduled hours are approximately 15-20 hours per week, Monday through Friday, with flexible scheduling options. Hours may be extended as required to execute the tasks assigned.

Travel

Travel is not required for this position.

Required Education and Experience

Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Computer Science, or related field; five years of content strategy experience at an agency or in-house creative company; and at least three years of experience in web content creation and web development.

  1. Must pass a pre-employment screen, including but not limited to a drug and alcohol screen, background check, motor vehicle records check, reference check and physical (if applicable).
  2. Current and valid driver's license in the state of permanent residence (must be insurable by Jaynes automobile insurance carrier in order to drive a Jaynes vehicle).
  3. Must be eligible per Fleet Safety Management policy to operate a company vehicle or a personal vehicle for company purposes.
