Job Overview:

As Sales Manager - Indianapolis this individual will be responsible for driving new business and expanding market share for specialty chemicals used in water treatment. This role requires a highly motivated, self-driven sales professional with a strong ability to prospect, qualify leads, and build long-lasting relationships with key stakeholders across middle market verticals. Advanced knowledge of Boiler, Cooling Tower, and Closed Loop chemistries is necessary.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive new business within the assigned territory through prospecting, lead generation, and relationship-building.
  • Qualify new leads and convert them into successful sales opportunities.
  • Build and manage a robust pipeline of prospects and customers in the water treatment sector.
  • Cultivate relationships with decision-makers in target industries, including hotel chains, hospital networks, and academic institutions.
  • Negotiate pricing, contract terms, and close sales to meet or exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual sales goals.
  • Provide ongoing customer support to ensure successful implementation and satisfaction with products and services.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of the competitive landscape, industry trends, and customer needs to identify new opportunities for growth.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., technical support, operations) to deliver tailored solutions for clients.
  • Provide accurate forecasting and sales reports to senior leadership.
  • Participate in industry events, conferences, and trade shows to network and promote Metric Geo's offerings.
  • Continuously improve sales strategies through feedback, market insights, and product knowledge.

Required Qualifications:

  • Water Treatment Chemical Background
  • Previous experience in Water Treatment Sales (specialty chemicals, capital equipment).
  • Engineering Degree or Equivalent Experience
  • Based in or around Indianapolis
  • Ability to service/troubleshoot accounts
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently while managing multiple client accounts.
  • Willingness to travel regularly within the assigned territory
  • Familiarity with industry standards, regulations, and best practices in water treatment.
  • Strong technical aptitude and ability to understand complex products and solutions.
