A leading manufacturing company in the Columbus, IN area is seeking an experienced Wastewater Treatment Assistant Manager to oversee daily operations of the wastewater treatment system, ensure compliance with environmental regulations, and optimize processes for efficiency and sustainability.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the operation and maintenance of the wastewater treatment facility to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal environmental regulations.
- Monitor treatment processes, analyze water quality data, and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Maintain accurate records and submit regulatory reports on wastewater discharge, chemical usage, and compliance metrics.
- Supervise and train plant personnel on proper procedures, safety protocols, and environmental best practices.
- Troubleshoot system issues, coordinate repairs, and recommend process improvements.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external agencies to ensure environmental compliance and sustainability initiatives.
Qualifications & Skills
- B.S. in Chemistry/ Biology related
- State of Indiana Wastewater Operator License (Class C or higher preferred).
- Minimum of 3-5 years in wastewater treatment operations, with supervisory or lead experience.
- Industrial wastewater treatment, chemical dosing, and regulatory compliance (EPA, IDEM).
- Ability to read schematics, operate testing equipment, and utilize wastewater management software.
- Strong problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
- Able to lift up to 30 lbs and perform regular physical activity
