Wastewater Plant Operator

The City of Beatrice is accepting applications for a full time Wastewater Plant Operator in the WPC Department. Hourly range is $22.03 to $32.25, plus benefits. Hours of work are Monday - Friday, 7:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent required. Must be eighteen (18) years of age. Must possess a valid driver's license and maintain an insurable driving record. Must have or be able to obtain a Class B CDL with air brake endorsement within six (6) months of hire. The City will provide training for a CDL if you do not currently have one. Must have or be able to obtain a Class 2 Water License within twelve (12) months of hire. Two (2) years' experience working in wastewater treatment facility or collect system preferred. Essential job functions: Responsible for the general operation and maintenance of the wastewater treatment facility, lift stations, and collection system. Perform preventive maintenance on wastewater treatment facility and system equipment and facilities; performance of minor repairs. Complete regular and unscheduled maintenance and repairs on all equipment and machinery. Conduct the necessary weekend checks of the wastewater treatment facility on a rotating basis (1 week every 5 weeks). Will be on a rotation for after hour calls and respond to emergency situations as required. Ability to work in all weather conditions. A full job description can be found below.
