WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

La Joya ISD is seeking a reliable, organized, and service-oriented Warehouse Inventory Clerk to support the district's mission of providing every student with a learning environment that is safe, prepared, and instruction-ready. The ideal candidate will take pride in making sure materials are received, tracked, and delivered accurately and on time to campuses and departments across our 220-square-mile district.

Qualifications

Education/ Certification
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Valid Texas driver's license
  • Forklift certification preferred or willingness to obtain
Special Knowledge/Skills:
  • Ability to follow detailed written and verbal instructions
  • Basic computer skills and ability to use spreadsheets and asset tracking software
  • Ability to perform basic math and inventory reconciliation
  • Strong organization, time management, and customer service skills
  • Ability to work well independently and as part of a team
Experience:
  • Experience in warehousing, inventory control, or delivery logistics preferred
  • School district experience is a plus
Major Responsibilities and Duties:

Receiving & Distribution
  • Receive, scan, and tag incoming materials and fixed assets using district inventory software
  • Unpack, inspect, and report damages or discrepancies in shipments
  • Load and unload delivery trucks; deliver items to campuses and departments as scheduled
  • Pull and fulfill approved requisitions accurately and in a timely manner
  • Maintain clean and organized receiving and storage areas
Inventory Control
  • Store items in appropriate areas based on established warehouse systems
  • Conduct regular physical inventories of supplies, assets, and equipment
  • Reconcile physical inventory with system records and report variances to supervisor
  • Assist in preparing surplus or obsolete items for auction or disposal
  • Maintain records of items on loan, under repair, or pending transfer
Logistics & Support
  • Transport equipment and materials between sites across the district
  • Provide support for district events requiring material delivery or setup
  • Assist with inter-campus redistribution of instructional or operational supplies
  • Support fixed asset tagging and documentation in coordination with the Asset Management team
Safety & Maintenance
  • Operate vehicles, forklifts, pallet jacks, and tools in compliance with district safety policies
  • Perform routine checks and maintenance on warehouse equipment and vehicles
  • Report and correct unsafe work conditions
  • Follow district protocols for chemical handling, lifting, and vehicle use
Other Duties
  • Support mail sorting and receiving when necessary
  • Serve as backup in the absence of other warehouse staff
  • Assist department leadership with projects and other responsibilities as assigned

  • Posture:Frequent standing, walking, stooping, squatting, bending, pushing, pulling, reaching
  • Motion:Repetitive hand motions, frequent lifting, climbing, driving
  • Lifting:Frequent heavy lifting (45 lbs. and over)
  • Environment:Work inside and outdoors; exposure to dust, extreme weather, warehouse noise, moving equipment, and chemicals
  • Mental Demands:Maintain emotional control under stress; meet timelines; manage multiple tasks
