SUMMARY

Performs various routine activities in the Packing, Inventory, Shipping, and Receiving departments of the Warehouse by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

General

Alternates among Warehouse departments as needed, as directed by the Shipping Leadsperson or Warehouse Assistant Supervisor.

Reviews daily workload and departmental priority list to select work.

Uses AS400 and counting scales in accordance with departmental procedures.

Trains on work instructions (CWIs) and other departmental documents on a routine basis.

Makes recommendations for improvements to processes, documentation, and equipment performance to the Shipping Leadsperson or Assistant Warehouse Supervisor.

Maintains a clean and neat work area; performs routine housekeeping to ensure cleanliness and orderliness.

Inventory

Performs physical counts of product and non-product items in the Stockroom and maintains accurate AS400 records of same.

Verifies clerical computations against physical count of stock and informs Assistant Supervisor of any errors in computation or count, and/or investigates and reports reasons for discrepancies.

Stocks incoming product and non-product items.

Retrieves items from inventory based on move ticket requests; verifies items for accuracy.

Retrieves product and non-product items from Stockroom shelves utilizing a ladder or and scissor lift.

Issues product and non-product items to other departments in accordance with departmental priorities, using manufacturing orders (MOs), move tickets and pick tickets.

Packing

Reviews the AS400 and routing ticket to ascertain type and quantity of product, containers to be used, and other packing requirements.

Inspects product prior to packing and notifies Assistant Supervisor of discrepancies or rejected products which may need to be returned to other departments.

Creates labeling for all packing using AS400.

Seals packages with physical stickers.

Dispositions work in AS400.

Assembles reels for axial tape and reel product.

Sets up C99T labeling printers as well as stock box label printer for daily activity.

Receiving

Reviews AS400 priorities display, shipping notices, bills of lading, invoices, and orders to determine priorities and schedules.

Answers Receiving door and accepts shipments from carriers.

Reviews incoming shipments to ensure accuracy, completeness, and condition.

Immediately routes urgent items, such as overnight envelopes, samples, etc. from Receiving dock to addressees.

Directs movement of shipments from Receiving dock to storage and work areas.

Compiles records and accurately enters data in AS/400.

Validates bills of lading, invoices and packing slips.

Dispositions MOs.

Receives and processes customer product returns.

Shipping

Compares identifying information and counts outgoing shipments to verify information against the pick ticket and packing slip.

Affixes corresponding labels to shipping cartons and product according to company standards.

Attaches packing slips and antistatic labels to shipping cartons.

Places cartons on freight carriers' scales and scans barcode Shipping information.

Examines outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications and are accurate.

Assembles cardboard cartons or selects preassembled containers.

Packages product into cardboard cartons in accordance with specified requirements.

Prepares airway bills for various carriers.

Calls carriers for pick-up as needed.

Files AESDirect paperwork and transactions for international shipments

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Required

High school diploma or equivalent; and 6-12 months hands on experience in at least 2 Warehouse departments (Packing, Receiving, Shipping, Stockroom); or two years at college (sixty credits); or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred

Twelve months plus experience in Packing, Receiving Shipping, Stockroom; experience with electronic components; experience with DHL, UPS and FedEx online systems, and experience with ISO9001:2008/2015 are all preferred.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other members of the organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

COMPUTER SKILLS

Basic data entry skills; working knowledge of AS400; ability to use the internet to process shipments and schedule pickups; knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Word and Outlook are helpful.

While performing the duties of this job, the member will be required to stand for prolonged periods of time and sit occasionally at a workstation. The member will regularly be required to walk; see; reach with hands and arms; use fingers; and stoop, kneel or crouch while performing job duties. The position occasionally requires the use of a ladder and scissor lift in the Inventory department. The member will regularly need to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds with or without assistance.
