Description
The Private Banker is responsible for managing relationships with high-net-worth clients, providing exceptional service, and fostering deep connections. Each banker will manage a portfolio of clients, ensuring they receive personalized attention and solutions for their financial needs. The goal is to grow the client base while maintaining strong relationships with existing clients through regular and strategic communication.
Ensures compliance within all Bank policies and procedures, as well as all applicable state and federal banking regulations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Client Relationship Management:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all assigned private banking clients
- Introduce yourself to new clients and ensure they feel welcomed
- Be available to address client needs, concerns, and inquiries promptly
Client Interaction Cadence:
- Maintain annual contact with all clients in your portfolio
- Engage with active clients (at least 25% of the book) on a quarterly basis to discuss their financial needs, performance, and any concerns
- Provide extra attention to the top 10% of your clients, including organizing personal touchpoints such as lunches, dinners, or golf outings. These events may involve senior executives
Client Growth & Retention:
- Identify and nurture opportunities to deepen client relationships, increase balances, and expand services utilized
- Proactively monitor and address situations where client balances may drop and implement strategies to retain business
- Generate business results and acquire new assets, both from existing client base and new client acquisition
Reporting & Collaboration:
- Collaborate closely with the SVP Head of Branch Banking to meet branch goals and maintain alignment with the overall bank strategy
- Provide regular updates on client interactions, potential growth opportunities, and retention efforts
- Minimum of 10 hours CRA volunteer hours per year. Volunteer hours are typically scheduled within business hours. This is compensable time and mileage is reimbursed

Supervisory Responsibilities: This position currently has no supervisory responsibilities.
Qualifications:- 6+ years of experience in private banking or financial services
- Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience
- Proven experience in private banking or high-net-worth client relationship management
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with clients at all levels of wealth
- Detail-oriented and able to manage a large portfolio of clients effectively
- Experience in hosting client engagement activities such as lunches, dinners, golf outings, and executive meetings is a plus
Physical/Mental Demands & Work Environment: The incumbent in the course of performing this position frequently spends time writing, typing, speaking, listening, operating basic business equipment, seeing (such as close, color and peripheral vision, depth perception and adjusted focus), sitting, walking, standing, reading documents or instruments, detailed work, problem solving, client contact, reasoning, math, language, presentations, verbal and written communication, analytical reasoning, stress, multiple concurrent tasks, and constant interruptions. The incumbent for this position will occasionally lift up to 15 pounds, pull, squat, kneel and reach. The incumbent is in a non-confined office-type setting in which he or she is free to move about at will. The work environment is typically quiet to a moderate noise level.
Travel is required. It is primarily local during the business day, and occasionally there will be out-of-area and overnight travel.
