The Opportunity
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Vice President of Tax to lead all tax-related functions, from strategic planning to compliance and risk management. This is a key leadership role that will drive tax strategy to support our continued growth and ensure optimal tax outcomes for the organization.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead and manage all aspects of the company's tax function, including federal, state, and local tax compliance, planning, and reporting
• Develop and implement strategic tax planning for all necessary federal and state taxes
• Optimize tax strategies in relation to land acquisition, development, and property sales
• Oversee tax provision processes under ASC 740 and coordinate with external auditors
• Ensure compliance with evolving tax laws and regulations
• Advise executive leadership on tax risks and opportunities tied to real estate transactions and business initiatives
• Manage relationships with external tax advisors and regulatory authorities
• Build and mentor a high-performing tax team
Qualifications
• CPA and/or Master's in Taxation preferred
• 10+ years of progressive tax experience, with at least 5 years of real estate experience
• Strong knowledge of real estate or homebuilding industry tax issues
• Proven track record of leading strategic tax planning and risk mitigation
• Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills
