Overview Dental Care Alliance's mission is to advance the practice of dentistry by partnering with and supporting dental professionals to create a lifetime of healthy smiles. Headquartered in Sarasota, Florida, DCA currently supports over 400 allied practices and supports over 900 dentists across 24 states. DCA's allied practices represent all dental specialties and treat patients under more than 150 brand names.
Summary/Objectives: Responsible for directing the enterprise wide operations of construction, facilities repairs/maintenance, and real estate operations and administration achieving full and seamless integration of all operational components eliminating variation and aligning strategic and operational processes throughout areas of responsibility. Accountable for ensuring compliance with regulatory agencies and accrediting bodies. Direct leadership over construction project management and Facilities to ensure growth and maintenance of dental care practices nationwide.
Responsibilities
Accountabilities Operations and Leadership - Strategic leader of all facilities, capital equipment, and facilities teams and vendors
- Provides leadership oversight and directs the operations for assigned areas of responsibility delegating activities as required for safe, efficient and effective operations.
- Responsible for the development, approval, and maintenance of dental practices and support center facilities.
Strategic Planning - Participates in short and long-term strategic planning initiatives as requested.
- Works with strategic alliances and partnerships to collaboratively execute business strategies.
- Articulate strategic plan and tactics to leaders within area of responsibility to create alignment and establish priorities.
Regulatory & Compliance - Develop processes to maintain compliance with regulatory agencies and accrediting bodies. Ensures operations are carried out in compliance with these regulations.
- Works collaboratively with others to validate and sustain compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards.
Fiscal Management and Operating Budget - Operationally responsible for the financial performance including operating and capital budgeting
- Vendor management and negotiation of all real estate, facilities, and building related efforts.
- Oversees and participates in the initial planning, financial analysis and budget development for all capital projects.
Talent Management - Recruit and retain diverse talent with a variety of backgrounds, skills, and experiences
- Manage performance metrics, coaching mentoring and training teammates to ensure optimal performance levels
Job Accountabilities Identifies and analyzes the design of jobs, work processes, work flows, etc. for the area and implements appropriate changes to improve effectiveness, productivity, and efficiency that support the overall goals of Dental Care Alliance.
- Stays abreast of the latest developments, advancements, and trends in the field by attending seminars/workshops, reading professional journals, actively participating in professional organizations, and/or maintaining certification or licensure. Integrates knowledge gained into current work practices.
- Maintains knowledge of applicable rules, regulations, policies, laws and guidelines that impact the area. Develops effective internal controls designed to promote adherence with applicable laws, accreditation agency requirements, and federal, state, and private health plans. Seeks advice and guidance as needed to ensure proper understanding.
- Develops and monitors annual budgets that ensure the department has the necessary funds to carry out the goals and objectives that have been established for the department.
- Develops, implements, monitors, and revises annual goals and objectives for the department that support the missions and objectives of Parkland.
- Selects, trains, schedules, motivates, supervises, and evaluates employees making recommendations for disciplinary actions up to and including termination, to ensure maximum utilization of individual and group capabilities. Ensures that assigned employees receive opportunities to further their knowledge.
Qualifications
Education Bachelor's degree in architecture, construction, facilities management, or related discipline required.
Master's degree in construction, facilities management or related discipline preferred.
Experience - Five+ (5) years of leadership experience in healthcare architecture, construction or facilities management required.
- Ten (10) years of progressive facilities management or construction leadership experience in a healthcare or healthcare adjacent organization may be considered in lieu of a bachelor's degree.
Certification/Registration/Licensure IFMA certification in facilities management (FMC) preferred.
