The American Trucking Associations (ATA) is seeking a highly qualified and strategic leader to join our team as the Vice President, Finance & Accounting (VP). The VP will lead the Finance & Accounting department, supervising all financial activities of ATA and collaborating closely with the Executive and Senior Leadership teams. This is a critical role focused on providing financial direction, ensuring transparency, and supporting ATA's mission and vision. The VP will manage the fiscal functions of the association in accordance with GAAP, regulations, and best practices for non-profit trade associations. Key Responsibilities: Financial Management: Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting and tax reporting. Analyze internal processes and staffing to enhance operational efficiency. Oversee banking and accounting systems, ensuring they meet ATA's objectives. Strategic Leadership: Collaborate with ATA's leadership team to analyze financial data, identify trends, and contribute to organizational decision-making. Develop short- and long-term financial strategies aligned with ATA's goals. Financial Strategy & Oversight: Recommend financial goals and strategies, including capital forecasts and staffing requirements. Ensure financial decisions align with ATA's overall strategic objectives. Process Optimization: Streamline accounting processes and improve operational efficiencies. Identify and address inefficiencies and optimize staffing structures as needed. Financial Planning & Budgeting: Oversee the preparation and execution of annual budgets. Work with senior leadership to allocate resources effectively across ATA's operations. Revenue Optimization: Develop and execute strategies to optimize revenue from ATA's events, conventions, and product sales. Drive non-dues revenue to support ATA's mission. Risk Management: Oversee insurance coverages to mitigate financial risk. Manage risk exposure in financial assets. Asset Management: Oversee ATA's financial and real estate assets, ensuring proper management and maximizing returns. Manage financial assets, including cash balances. Membership & Partnerships: Collaborate with internal departments to meet objectives for membership dues and non-dues revenue. Board Relations: Present financial reports, trends, and forecasts to ATA's Board of Directors and other stakeholders. Ensure transparency and strategic insights are shared regularly. Team Leadership: Lead and mentor the Finance & Accounting team. Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement. Foster cross-departmental partnerships to align financial strategies with organizational objectives. Additional duties, as assigned Why ATA? Qualifications: Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field. Experience: Minimum 10 years of experience in finance or accounting. Proven leadership experience, particularly in a non-profit or membership-based organization. Experience with pension plans preferred. Skills & Expertise: Strong financial accounting skills, including financial statement preparation and monthly closing processes. Proven success in establishing streamlined accounting processes and presenting financial data to large groups (Board of Directors, Committees). Strong understanding and familiarity with financial systems, with experience with SAP Concur, ADP Workforce Now, Personify, Sage Intacct, and/or Dynamic Solutions highly preferred. Excellent leadership, delegation, and motivational skills. Background in organizational revitalization or consulting is a plus. Strong customer-service orientation, attention to detail, and organizational skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Certifications: CPA highly preferred, but not required.PandoLogic.
