The Opportunity:
The VP of Field Sales will be responsible for creating and executing a business strategy that drives brand growth and elevates Dr. Barbara Sturm's presence in North America with key retail partners. This leader will focus on exceeding sell-in targets, expanding market share, and identifying new business opportunities. They will steer the ongoing business, manage a high-performing sales team, and deliver sustained growth over time while staying true to Dr. Barbara Sturm's science-based, innovative skincare philosophy.
What you'll get to do:
Sales Strategy
- Create and execute a strategic sales plan aligned with the overarching goals of the brand in partnership with senior leadership
- Develop and implement sales targets (sell-in and sell-out), budgets, and forecasting to achieve short- and long-term financial goals
- Drive market penetration and share expansion by identifying trends, opportunities, and competitive strategies
- Monitor and analyze performance metrics, adjusting the sales approach and resource allocation as needed
- Preserve enhanced Dr. Barbara Sturm's premium positioning at all points of sale
- Identify the competitive landscape and market trends to help find opportunities for new business initiatives and new revenue opportunities
- Recommend and oversee brand distribution optimization with current and prospective retail partners.
- Develop sales plans to drive performance across accounts, doors, and geographies
Relationship Management
- Build and maintain solid relationships with retail partners to promote the brand's values and product expertise
- Lead negotiations and business terms, and contractual agreements with Wholesale partners / vendors. This includes defining sales objectives, negotiating volumes, retail space and investments
- Partner and maximize relationships with internal teams - Sell-in, Sell-out, eRetail, Marketing to coordinate efforts that manage and optimize brand image and presentation online & offline
- Partner with Operations (Logistics, Demand Planning, Customer Service) to align forecasting, fulfillment, and inventory solutions, proactively addressing challenges such as overstock or slow-moving products
- Collaborate with brand training teams to equip retail partners with in-depth knowledge of Dr. Barbara Sturm's science-backed formulations, ensuring a consistent, high-touch consumer experience
- Oversee new product launches in partnership with Marketing and retail leaders, ensuring accurate brand and product knowledge at the wholesale level
Team Management
- Lead and mentor a high-performing sales team, providing strategic direction and support
- Attract, develop, and retain top talent, building a pipeline of future leaders within the sales organization
- Encourage collaboration and innovation, enabling the team to meet and surpass organizational objectives
- Project Manage and track progress across functions, workstreams, and objectives to deliver on strategy and ongoing execution successfully
We'd love to meet you if you have:
- 10+ years of relevant sales experience within the beauty/skincare industry, working with premium/luxury retail partners
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Business, Marketing, or a related field
- Proven record of P&L management and delivering on ambitious sales goals in a fast-paced environment
- Strategic mindset with a history of shaping and executing business strategies
- Strong wholesale experience, ideally within the skincare or luxury beauty sector
- Unwavering ethical standards and demonstrated integrity in business operations
- Outstanding leadership abilities, including excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and the capability to coach and inspire teams
- Executive presence with the ability to guide and influence cross-functional teams and senior stakeholders
- Willingness and ability to travel regionally to support business and partner relationship
Compensation:
As required by New York State's salary transparency law, effective November 2022, the expected base salary for this position ranges from $200,000.00 - $220,000.00. Various factors are considered when extending offers, such as relevant skillset, training, years of experience related to the current job description, education, and our organizational structure.
