Job Description

As the Vice President of Commercial Operations, you will serve as a strategic and operational leader responsible for optimizing the performance of the commercial organization within a regulated, fast-paced medical device environment. You will lead functions including sales operations and analytics, business intelligence, pricing, and forecasting. In this role, you will play a key role in aligning sales, marketing, and functions to optimize revenue performance and customer experience. The position will also lead the automation and optimization efforts of Treace Medical processes and reports.

What you will be responsible for:
  • Guide the organization's overall data-driven decision-making process.
  • Develop and execute commercial operations strategies that support revenue growth, efficiency, alignment, and customer satisfaction.
  • Build and lead high-performing teams across sales operations, business intelligence, and pricing. Coach and develop team members to grow & excel in a fast-paced environment.
  • Oversee sales operations, including pipeline management, territory planning & alignment, sales forecasting, quota setting, and incentive compensation design.
  • Lead revenue forecasting, sales analytics, and business intelligence efforts to drive data-informed decisions.
  • Execute pricing strategies and manage contracting processes in coordination with marketing, legal, reimbursement, and finance teams to maximize revenue and margin.
  • Design pricing, contracting, and margin analysis frameworks to improve profitability.
  • Drive business intelligence and analytics initiatives to track key performance metrics, market trends, and competitive insights. Provide executive-level reporting/scorecards on commercial performance.
  • Partner with Finance and Strategy teams on budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning.
  • Implement and optimize tools and technologies that support commercial effectiveness, such as CRM platforms, BI dashboards, ERP systems, and sales enablement platforms.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across commercial processes. Partner with IT & Strategic Initiatives to deliver automation and optimization projects
  • Coordinate sales forecasting, planning, and budgeting processes used within the sales organization. Proactively monitor and strive to maintain high levels of quality, accuracy, and process consistency in the sales organization's planning efforts. As needed, coordinate planning activities with other functions and stakeholders within the organization.
  • Oversee the preparation and distribution of complex monthly sales reports and sales matrices, including individualized territory reports on quota performance, surgeon activity, facility pricing, and Medical Education activity, as well as key monthly statistics used by executive leadership and for BOD/investor communications.
  • Monitor the accuracy and efficient distribution of sales reports and other intelligence essential to the sales organization. Recommend revisions to existing reports and/or assist in the development of new reporting tools as needed.
  • Create/deliver executive sales dashboards and scorecards for sales forecasting, planning, and budgeting processes used within the commercial organization. Proactively monitors and maintains high levels of quality, accuracy, and process consistency in the sales organization's planning efforts.
  • Manage the annual quota setting process with equitable assignment of sales force quotas and ensure quotas are optimally allocated to all sales channels and resources. Provide ongoing monitoring of quota effectiveness and adjust as needed to ensure overall revenue targets are achieved.
  • Monitor the accuracy and efficient distribution of sales reports and other intelligence essential to the sales organization. Recommend revisions to existing reports or assists in the development of new reporting tools as needed.
  • Drive PowerBI charts to support sales teams and grow revenue.
  • Provide support and guidance on sales structure set up and Mapping.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Finance or Economics, MBA preferred.
  • 15 + years of progressive experience in commercial operations, sales analytics, forecasting or related roles with a minimum of 5 years at a senior leadership level required.
  • 5+ years of pricing strategy experience required.
  • 7 + years of experience leading and managing a team.
  • Advanced skills in MS Excel, Power BI, CRM
