Description of Work Murdoch Developmental Center is currently recruiting a Volunteer Services Coordinator to lead the recruitment, coordination, and engagement of community volunteers to support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) living at the Center. This role involves significant interaction with volunteers, residents of the Center, and staff members, as well as participation in enriching programs and events. The ideal candidate for this position will possess excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills. This role offers a fulfilling opportunity for someone passionate about community engagement and supporting individuals with (IDD). We are looking for a creative, detail-oriented professional who thrives in a collaborative environment and is motivated by making a meaningful difference. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Serve as the main point of contact for all volunteers, providing guidance, placement, and ongoing support.
- Develop and implement strategies to recruit, retain, and recognize a diverse and engaged volunteer workforce and identify new opportunities for engagement and community outreach/tours.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with community partners and organizations to grow the volunteer network and maintain up-to-date statistical records of volunteer placement, participation, and performance.
- Plan, organize, and support volunteer-led and community events, including Operation Santa Claus, Arts Festival, Farm Day, PALS Program, Campership, Sponsorship Programs, Story Trail, and Blood Drives.
- Compose professional correspondence and manage the processing of donations and contributions.
- Maintain detailed documentation of all in-kind support/contributions and volunteer data.
- Serve on internal committees and collaborate with Center staff.
Work Hours are typically Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with flexibility for occasional evening and weekend work as needed.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities / Competencies To receive credit for all of your work history and credentials, you must list the information on the application form. - Must possess a valid driver's license.
Management Preferences - Prefer five years or more of experience working with people with intellectual developmental disabilities.
- Prefer Certification in Volunteer Administration and/or Non-Profit Management Certification.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while collaborating effectively with staff, community partners and closely with the director on programs and initiatives. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail; ability to manage multiple priorities to meet deadlines.
Physical Requirements - Physical requirements include the ability to stand/walk for extended periods of time, lift items weighing up to 40 lbs., and transport items.

Bachelor s degree from an appropriately accredited institution; or High school or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and four years of work in volunteer services enabling the applicant to acquire the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
