The Volunteer Services Assistant will provide detailed administrative support for the Volunteer Services Manager during the Christmas season and transition of a new volunteer database. This includes but is not limited to contacting current and inactive volunteer applicants about opportunities, data entry, running reports, and filing. Duties and Responsibilities -Identify potential volunteers and volunteer group and share volunteer opportunities with them. -Assist in the volunteer review process by sending background check invites to candidates, submitting Territorial Registry checks, and conducting reference checks. -Schedule Interviews for potential volunteers and orientations for approved volunteers. -Assist in the volunteer database transition through data entry and running reports to confirm accuracy. -Participate in volunteer events by setting up volunteer welcome table and interacting with volunteers. -Maintain the accuracy of data using Excel, word processing, and volunteer database. -Perform general office duties, such as printing, filing, copying and various tasks. -Perform related duties as assigned by supervisor. Requirements -High School, GED -2 years Office Experience Desired Qualifications -Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite. -Ability to recognize and maintain confidentiality and use discretion when sharing information appropriately. -Experience operating essential office equipment, including computers, printers, copiers, etc. -Must understand and support the mission of The Salvation Army.
