Volunteer Emergency Department Aide

Have you always been fascinated with the Emergency Department at a hospital? Have you thought about going into Emergency Medicine or working in some other capacity in the Emergency Department? If so, you should consider volunteering in the Emergency Department at Children's of Alabama.

Volunteers who serve in the Emergency Department will provide support services that help staff in the Emergency Department to care for acutely ill and injured children. The Emergency Department serves as a primary referral center for Birmingham and surrounding communities. Some duties for our volunteers in the Emergency Department will be escorting patients and families back to their rooms for treatment, taking specimens and samples from triage to their designated spot for testing, assisting staff by sitting with a patient until a medical professional can see him/her, and more.
