Key Responsibilities In this challenging yet rewarding role as a VMWare Systems Administrator, you are an integral part of what brings our Company's mission to life. You should have the following required skills, certifications and demonstrated experience in and/or with:
- VMware vSphere (vCenter and ESXi) experience support multi-site environments
- VMware Horizon VDI experience supporting a geographically disperse enterprise with a mix of persistent and instant clone desktops
- Creating Microsoft Windows golden images
- HP thin clients and HP Device Manager (HPDM)
- VMware App Volume experience to include application capturing and troubleshooting
- VMware Unified Access Gateway
- Capacity planning for geographically distributed enterprise-level systems
- Converting customer requirements into a technical plan
- Full life cycle of system development
- Working with PKI certificates and keys
- Understanding features and administrative responsibilities for maintaining the health, scalability, manageability, and security for the Atlassian applications and plugins using Data Center
- Knowing all aspects of project workflows, security, permission, fields, and notifications
- Administering the following applications/plugins:
- Jira Service Management
- Jira Software
- Confluence
- Administering the following applications/plugins:
- Bitbucket
- Bamboo
- Fisheye/Crucible
- Crowd
- Insight/Assets
- Gathering and translating business requirements into Jira projects and dashboards
- Adapting to new situations and priorities
- Effective communication skills
- Agile software development processes
- Using Linux for application upgrades and troubleshooting service disruptions
- Using JavaScript to enhance automation of Jira projects
- General troubleshooting skills in Linux, and Puppet
Highly Desired Qualifications Other skills and demonstrated experiences that are highly desired but not mandatory to perform the work, include:
- Basic understanding of network communications
- Basic understanding of enterprise storage technology, specifically Network Attached Storage (NAS) via Network File System (NFS)
- Maintaining a VMware or Hyper-V infrastructure
- Basic understanding of Linux commands
- Basic understanding of Microsoft Active Directory and Group Policy Objects (GPO)
- VMware PowerCLI using Microsoft PowerShell
- Understanding basics of project management to include understanding resource planning for technical projects
- Creating end user, admin, and system documentation
