Position Summary:

The Department of Sociology, Criminology, & Anthropology in the College of Arts and Sciences at North Central College invites applications for a 1-year, visiting position in Sociology to begin August 1, 2025. Candidates will be considered regardless of field of specialization. Teaching excellence is paramount, and the demonstrated ability to instruct a range of undergraduate courses in the general education and departmental sociology curriculum is required. Applicants should also demonstrate their excellence in mentoring of undergraduate students; preference will be given to those who have supervised undergraduate research. Successful applicants are expected to have completed their Ph.D. in Sociology or a closely related field by August 2025. The contract is for 9.5 months with a competitive salary and 3-3 teaching load.

The budgeted salary range for this position is 55,000 to $57,000. The pay offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on factors including (but not limited to) the selected candidate's experience and qualifications, including equivalent years in rank, training, and field or discipline; internal equity; and external market pay for comparable jobs.
