The
Division of Management, Marketing, & Entrepreneurship in the College of Business at Governors State University invites applications for a one-year Visiting Assistant Professor of Management position beginning August 2025. The appointment may be renewed for the academic year.
The successful candidate will teach undergraduate and graduate management courses, with a teaching load of 27 credit hours across the Fall, Spring, and Summer semesters. Preferred teaching areas include Principles of Management, Business Statistics, Strategy, and Supply Chain Management. Additional course assignments may be based on departmental needs and candidate expertise.
Candidates should demonstrate strong teaching capabilities, a commitment to serving non-traditional and diverse student populations, and a willingness to teach online or hybrid courses. Candidates must meet AACSB criteria for Scholarly Academic (SA) status and show potential for meaningful research and service contributions aligned with the college's mission (Note: SA status generally includes a terminal degree and a record of recent peer-reviewed research or equivalent intellectual contributions).

Minimum Qualifications
- Ph.D. or D.B.A. in Management or a closely related field from an AACSB-accredited (or equivalent) institution by August 2025; ABD candidates in the final stages will be considered.
- Evidence of or potential for effective teaching at the undergraduate and/or graduate level.
- Interest in developing and delivering online courses.
- Demonstrated potential for scholarly activity that meets AACSB SA standards.
Preferred Qualifications- Teaching experience in multiple areas of management, such as Business Statistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Strategy, and Principles of Management.
- Professional experience in business or industry.
- Experience with online/hybrid course delivery.
- Understanding of AACSB accreditation standards and expectations.Supplemental Information
