We're seeking a creative, detail-oriented Video & Podcast Producer to join our dynamic team and help tell stories that inform and inspire.
Position Overview:
The Video & Television Producer is responsible for developing, producing, and editing original television and video content, primarily for broadcast and long-form projects. You'll work closely with our editorial, marketing, and production teams to create engaging, outdoor-focused stories that resonate with our loyal audience. While your focus will be television and long-form video editing, our small, fast-paced team occasionally pitches in on social and digital content when needed. Hunting experience is preferred, but we're willing to train the right person with a passion for storytelling and a strong visual sense.
Key Responsibilities:
- Produce, shoot, and edit television episodes and long-form video content for Deer & Deer Hunting and related brands
- Support field production, including hunts, interviews, and on-location shoots
- Collaborate with editorial staff and subject matter experts to develop scripts and storylines
- Manage media assets, organize footage, and maintain project archives
- Ensure all content meets brand standards and project deadlines
- Travel 20-40% during the fall months for field production (travel varies by project)
- Maintain equipment inventory and ensure gear is field-ready
- Occasionally assist with short-form video and social media projects as team needs arise
- Stay current on industry trends, hunting topics, and television production best practices
Preferred Qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience in video production, television production, or a related field (outdoor industry experience a plus)
- Proficiency with Adobe Premiere Pro (or similar editing software)
- Strong storytelling skills with an eye for composition, pacing, and audience engagement
- Experience operating DSLR/mirrorless cameras, audio recorders, and related field gear
- Comfortable working independently and as part of a team in both studio and field environments
- Knowledge of whitetail deer hunting and outdoor content (preferred but not required)
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Willingness to travel and work flexible hours during peak seasons
