About the Role The Company is seeking a VP of Strategic Media and Influence to spearhead the development of a fully integrated, in-house media agency. This visionary leader will be responsible for building and leading a best-in-class media and communications team, with a focus on shaping the brand's narrative, driving strategic growth, and connecting media work to business outcomes. The role is a creative-operational hybrid, demanding a leader who can blend old-school earned instincts with new school influence models, and who is adept at operating at the leadership level. Key responsibilities include owning all media relations, narrative development, and reputation strategy, as well as creating and overseeing integrated marketing campaigns. The successful candidate will also be tasked with developing executive communication programs and architecting speaking opportunities to establish the company as a category-defining voice. Candidates for this role at the company should have a minimum of 5 years' experience in media relations, PR strategy, brand communications, or integrated marketing, with a proven track record of leading strategic comms functions. The ideal candidate will have strong relationships across national, business, and industry media, and be equally fluent in earned, owned, and shared media. Experience in scaling a team or building a capability from scratch is essential, as is the ability to connect media work to business outcomes and partner with senior clients to align strategy with business growth. The role requires a leader with executive presence, who is comfortable advising the C-suite on brand and media issues, and who can operate at the center of strategy and brand voice. Extra points will be given for experience with B2B innovation brands, founders, or regulated industries, and for a demonstrated understanding of AI's impact on media relations and the future of earned attention.
