As one of the top leaders of Cutting Edge Countertops, you will provide leadership and strategic vision to the organization and direct activities involving plant operations, plant engineering and maintenance, supply chain, and field measurement and installation services.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
Develop and implement operational strategies aligned with the company's overall goals. Champion process improvement by identifying and implementing new technologies, processes and systems to enhance efficiency and productivity.
Operational Effectiveness:
Oversee day-to-day operations across multiple fabrication plants, ensuring smooth production flows, meeting production schedules within budget, and maintaining high operational excellence. Implement process improvements utilizing Theory of Constraints techniques. Drive Capex projects, including ROI analysis, product specifications, and other activities necessary when investing in the Company's future.
Performance Management
Set and monitor KPIs, ensuring targets are met for throughput, on-time delivery, quality, rework rates, cost control, and safety. Monitor operational performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing root cause corrective actions to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
Customer Focus and Order Fulfillment:
Work closely with the sales and customer service teams to ensure customer orders are produced and delivered on time, meeting all specifications. Address escalated customer concerns related to product quality or delivery quickly and effectively, maintaining high customer satisfaction and loyalty.
Reporting and Communication:
Prepare and present detailed reports on production performance, financial status, safety, and quality assurance to ensure transparency and alignment with organizational goals. Prepare detailed capacity updates and needs reporting.
Team Leadership:
Lead and develop teams of directors, managers and supervisors and their teams, fostering a positive work environment and ensuring effective collaboration. Develop the teams to consistently deliver high levels of performance and accountability with a continuous improvement mindset.
Supply Chain and Inventory Management:
Oversee end-to-end supply chain operations, including sourcing, procurement, inventory management, material handling, and logistics to ensure the timely availability of raw materials and finished products.
Financial Management
Develop and manage operational budgets, monitor expenses, and ensure cost-effective resource allocation across plants and alignment with company financial goals. Drive cost-saving initiatives without sacrificing quality or customer satisfaction, including optimizing labor, materials, and operational processes.
Quality Control and Assurance:
Establish and maintain rigorous quality control standards to ensure all countertops meet customer specifications and industry benchmarks.
Health, Safety, and Compliance:
Foster and lead by example with a culture of safety throughout the organization; lead and enforce workplace safety protocols and ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, environmental standards, and other relevant laws.
Skills & Qualifications
- Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills, with the ability to lead and motivate diverse teams across multiple locations.
- Bachelor's degree in operations management, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field (MBA preferred).
- 10+ years of progressive experience in manufacturing operations, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role overseeing multi-site operations with an emphasis on improving throughput, quality, and cost management. Expertise in Theory of Constraints, Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies.
- Strong knowledge of supply chain management, production process improvement, and quality management systems; proficient with ERP systems and manufacturing software.
- Proven financial acumen with experience in budgeting, cost control, and P&L management.
- Excellent critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills that lead to decisions aligned with goals.
