Friedman's Home Improvement is seeking a visionary and collaborative Vice President of Technology to lead the transformation of our retail technology ecosystem. This high-impact role will require a leader who is a values-based leader that has demonstrated commitment to the development of leaders and the ability to participate in executive-level decisions beyond their primary areas of focus.
Someone who can balance technical expertise, strategic thinking, and strong interpersonal skills to address current pain points, streamline operations, and drive future growth. The role will include collaboration across departments, fostering team confidence, and delivering innovative technology solutions that align with our business objectives. Serve as a strategic technology partner across the organization-assessing current systems for efficiency and resilience, identifying redundancies and fail-safes, and implementing tools that simplify internal workflows-enabling staff to serve customers with greater ease and impact. Proactively engage with departments to listen, observe, and ask the right questions to uncover pain points and deliver solutions staff didn't know were possible.

Key Responsibilities:
Technology Strategy & Leadership
- Define and execute a bold, scalable technology vision for the business.
- Serve as a strategic partner to all departments-identifying challenges and delivering tools that increase ease, efficiency, and impact.
- Participate in executive-level decisions, contributing beyond your technical domain.
- Mentor and support three Technology Managers while fostering a high-trust, collaborative team environment.
Ecommerce & Customer Experience Innovation
- Evaluate our existing B2C ecommerce platform and explore B2B opportunities, including contractor online ordering.
- Recommend a path forward based on functionality, feasibility, and ROI.
- Enhance the digital shopping experience through mobile, loyalty, and customer-focused tools.
Operational Excellence & Systems Optimization
- Analyze and improve current systems for reliability, efficiency, and resiliency.
- Resolve 50+ Microsoft D365 backlog tickets with a structured, stakeholder-informed approach.
- Optimize key retail systems including POS, ERP, and inventory management.
New Store Technology Planning
- Lead the tech vision for upcoming store launches-identifying innovative solutions that elevate both operations and customer engagement.
- Align new technologies with our brand and business goals.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field (Master's preferred).
- 10+ years in technology leadership, ideally in a multi-location retail environment.
- Proven success implementing and managing Microsoft D365, ecommerce platforms (B2C & B2B), and enterprise retail systems.
- A balance of hands-on problem solving and strategic vision.
- Exceptional communication, project management, and team development skills.
