Vice President of People & Culture

Our client is a fast-growing personal injury law firm based in Orange County, committed to building a high-performance culture that fuels its expansion. As the firm continues to scale, we're looking for a seasoned VP of People & Culture to lead the HR function and help drive the firm's hypergrowth strategy. The ideal candidate will have experience leading HR efforts during rapid growth, particularly in technology or service-based industries, with a focus on compliance, employee retention, and cultural development.
Role Overview:
The VP of People & Culture will be a key strategic partner, working directly with the founder to shape the firm's HR function and organizational culture during a period of rapid growth. The firm currently has around 250 employees and is on a trajectory to scale quickly. You'll play a critical role in building scalable processes for hiring, onboarding, retention, and compliance as the firm continues its expansion. This role requires a strategic thinker with hands-on experience in hypergrowth environments, able to navigate the challenges of scaling and creating a positive, high-performance culture.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead HR initiatives for a rapidly growing firm, scaling the team while maintaining a strong company culture.
- Develop and implement compliance policies and procedures that align with both local and national regulations.
- Drive employee onboarding, performance management, and retention strategies to lower turnover and foster a positive work environment.
- Work directly with the founder to shape and define company values, ensuring alignment across all levels of the organization.
- Create and oversee employee engagement initiatives, recognition programs, and bonus structures that incentivize high performance.
- Manage the HR team to support day-to-day operations, including terminations, disciplinary actions, and conflict resolution.
- Ensure HR systems, processes, and programs are scalable, efficient, and support the firm's growth objectives.
- Oversee key HR metrics and KPIs to measure performance, employee satisfaction, and organizational effectiveness.
Qualifications:
- 10+ years of HR experience, with a focus on scaling high-growth companies.
- Previous experience in a technology or service-oriented company, with a strong understanding of HR practices in a fast-paced environment.
- Expertise in building and maintaining compliance policies and procedures, with a deep understanding of employment law.
- Proven track record of developing strategies to improve employee engagement, retention, and overall satisfaction.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to collaborate with senior leadership and influence decisions.
- Experience designing and implementing bonus programs, KPIs, and other performance metrics.
- Ability to thrive in an on-site, high-growth environment, with hands-on experience driving HR initiatives.
