Vice President of Marketing and Communications
Position Summary:
Reporting to the Senior Executive Vice President, the Vice President of Marketing and Communications is responsible for leading and managing the marketing and communications teams to develop and implement integrated strategies that elevate the organization's brand, strengthen stakeholder engagement, and support organizational goals. This role involves overseeing brand management, corporate communications, public relations, digital marketing, and internal communications.
The VP of Marketing and Communications will collaborate with departments across the organization to ensure a cohesive voice and unified messaging, monitor and report on marketing and communication performance, and represent the company at industry events and networking opportunities. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in strategic marketing and communications, excellent leadership and storytelling skills, and a proven track record of building brand equity and driving stakeholder engagement.
Essential Job Functions:
- Develop and execute comprehensive marketing and communications strategies aligned with company goals and brand positioning.
- Lead and manage high-performing marketing and communications teams, driving creativity, consistency, and results across all channels.
- Establish and track KPIs for marketing campaigns, communications initiatives, and brand performance.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with media, industry stakeholders, community partners, and internal teams.
- Identify and pursue opportunities to increase the company's visibility, enhance its reputation, and promote thought leadership across traditional and digital platforms.
- Oversee brand strategy, messaging, and visual identity to ensure consistency and cohesion across all touchpoints.
- Analyze market trends, audience behavior, and campaign performance to inform strategy and optimize impact.
- Partner with departments such as government affairs, public policy, and customer experience to ensure message alignment and consistency.
- Manage crisis communications, media inquiries, and issues management in coordination with senior leadership.
- Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and community engagements to enhance brand presence and relationships.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, public relations, or a related field; Master's degree or MBA preferred.
- Extensive experience in marketing and communications with a strong record of success in leadership roles.
- Demonstrated experience leading brand strategy, media relations, digital marketing, and internal/external communications.
- Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop high-performing teams.
- Exceptional verbal, written, and visual communication skills with the ability to convey complex ideas clearly and compellingly.
- Strategic mindset with strong analytical skills and experience using data to inform decisions and measure impact.
- Deep understanding of communication channels including digital, social, earned media, and content marketing.
- Experience managing corporate reputation and leading communications in high-stakes or crisis situations.
- Strong collaboration skills with the ability to work cross-functionally and build consensus among diverse stakeholders.
