About the Role
- Lead manufacturing, engineering, and quality teams. This VP role offers high visibility, direct impact on process and team development, and the chance to shape long-term operational strategy.
Responsibilities
- Supervising Engineering Manager, Quality Control Manager, Production and Shipping Room Supervisor and select manufacturing engineers.
- Supervises all manufacturing operations.
- Provides input into manufacturing process improvements.
- Develops, trains and encourages employee direct reports.
- Analyzes and resolves work problems and assists employees in solving problems.
- Assists managers and supervisors in establishing work priorities.
- Provides backup to managers and supervisors during times of absence from work by ensuring duties are performed.
- Has the ability to read blueprints and provide input into efficient and effective manufacturing processes.
- Understands gear manufacturing equipment, CNC lathes and mills, and grinding equipment.
- Make recommendations for improving production techniques.
- Ensures compliance with Quality Assurance procedures consistent with ISO.
- Provide technical support to managers and supervisors.
- Work closely with other enterprise locations to improve enterprise performance.
- Monitor and provide input into longer-term scheduling issues.
- Assist with other operational duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in mechanical engineering, industrial manufacturing, or equivalent experience.
Required Skills and Experience
- Strong communication skills and supervisory experience; understanding of probability, statistical inference, geometry, and trigonometry; familiarity with CNC machine code (g&m,); CAD/CAM familiarity; experience with gear grinding equipment;
Preferred Skills
- Familiarity with CNC lathes and mills; understanding of GMM and related QC/QA topics; ERP familiarity
