Position Overview:
The Vice President of Engineering and Manufacturing will lead our Engineering, Manufacturing, and Depot teams. This strategic role ensures operational excellence, cost-effective systems, and drives innovation in TSS radar systems to maintain our competitive edge. As the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for TSS radar systems, the VP will lead technology integration, optimize processes, and enhance system performance. This role requires a hands-on leader with expertise in radar systems, electronics, and mechanical engineering, as well as experience managing complex engineering projects and manufacturing operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Recruit, train, and manage management staff across Engineering, Manufacturing, and Depot departments. Oversee daily operations, performance evaluations, and personnel decisions in alignment with company policies.
- Develop and implement project plans, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and CEO approval. Conduct cost analyses, establish timelines, and ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
- Serve as the SME for TSS radar systems, driving innovation, performance improvements, and the integration of new technologies for radar system development, repair, and manufacturing.
- Oversee reverse engineering efforts, replacement designs for Legacy systems, and the identification of hardware, software, and components for system optimization.
- Partner with executive leadership to develop strategies, align departmental decisions with company vision, and implement emerging technologies to enhance processes and decision-making.
- Administer departmental budgets, negotiate contracts, manage contractor activities, and ensure cost-effective resource allocation.
- Oversee systems testing, evaluation, and validation to maintain operational excellence and adherence to industry standards.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and technical excellence across all departments.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
- 10 years of progressive engineering and manufacturing experience, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
- Extensive radar experience, including installation, operation, and maintenance.
- Proven expertise in managing departmental budgets and resource allocation.
- Proven expertise in radar systems, including installation, operation, maintenance, and instruction.
- Strong background in electronics and mechanical engineering, with specific experience in analog, digital, and RF circuit design.
- Extensive experience in leading cross-functional engineering and manufacturing teams.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement strategic initiatives aligned with business objectives.
- Strong skills in testing and evaluation methodologies for complex systems.
