Job Summary:


The Vice President of Marketing is a vital member of the team, responsible for leading strategic marketing efforts that boost brand visibility, customer engagement, lead generation, and revenue growth. This role oversees a broad range of functions, including brand management, product innovation and stage gating, channel-specific initiatives, trade and consumer promotions, and market research. The VP ensures marketing strategies are tightly aligned with business objectives, supports both direct and channel sales, and strengthens EMS's competitive position in a technical environment.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and lead the overarching marketing strategy, ensuring alignment with EMS goals, sales targets, and market opportunities.
  • Team Leadership: Build, mentor, and manage a high-performing marketing team, including specialists in product marketing, digital, communications, and creative branding.
  • Brand Management: Oversee brand positioning, messaging, and consistency across all channels and customer touchpoints in a traditionally conservative, technically driven industry.
  • Budget Management: Develop and manage the marketing budget, ensuring effective use of resources and measurable outcomes.
  • Demand Generation: Build and manage integrated marketing campaigns to drive awareness, generate qualified leads, and support the sales pipeline across multiple verticals.
  • Market Intelligence: Analyze market trends, customer needs, and the competitive landscape to guide product marketing, pricing strategies, and business development efforts.
  • Channel & Partner Marketing: Collaborate with distributors, suppliers, and OEM partners to co-market products and services, create joint campaigns, and support reseller channels.
  • Digital Marketing: Lead digital transformation initiatives including website optimization, SEO/SEM, marketing automation, email campaigns, and analytics tools.
  • Trade Shows & Events: Plan and execute industry trade shows, customer events, and sales training initiatives, ensuring strong ROI and brand visibility.

Qualifications


  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Communications or related field (MBA preferred)
  • 10+ years of progressive marketing leadership experience, ideally in industrial distribution, manufacturing, or B2B technical sales environments
  • Proven track record of strategic marketing leadership and measurable impact on sales growth
  • Strong understanding of industrial buyers, distribution channels, and technical product marketing
  • Management/Leadership/Customer Relationship skills
  • Expertise in CRM, marketing automation platforms (e.g., HubSpot, Marketo), and digital analytics
  • Effective oral and written communications skills
  • Time Management - Manages multiple projects and tasks simultaneously while demonstrating the ability to plan, set priorities, organize, and coordinate work with others
  • Must have excellent organizational skills - demonstrates attention to detail through accuracy and completeness of information and ability to multi-task
  • Competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook
