The Vice President of Human Resources (VP of HR) is responsible for developing and maintaining a labor environment that aligns with the mission, vision, and values the company, while adhering to legal, regulatory, and policy requirements. VP of HR also oversees the administrative and operational functions of the Human Resources department and interdisciplinary teams to ensure that HR policies and practices comply with local, state, and federal regulations.
Key areas of responsibility include recruitment, record keeping, benefits, employee relations, strategic planning, wage and hour administration, compensation, performance evaluation, employee safety, budget and fiscal management, training and orientation, and Corporate Compliance (as defined by federal law and enhanced by Corporate Compliance policies). The VP of HR must ensure compliance with HR guidelines relevant to accreditation under applicable regulatory bodies, including the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS).
Additionally, the VP of HR will collaborate with the organization's Leadership team on employment-related practices to reduce risk and liability, ensure consistency in practices, and support successful operations.
