The President of Oklahoma State University invites nominations and applications for the position of Vice President for Student Affairs. The successful candidate will provide leadership for transformative student experiences, services, and support that champion personal growth and student success. Many of the student and auxiliary services are housed in OSU's iconic, state-of-the-art Student Union which is recognized as the most comprehensive student union in the world, welcoming over one million visitors annually. Beyond offering essential resources, it serves as a hub for community and belonging. For generations, the Union has nurtured leadership among OSU students, whether through committee involvement or student employment. It has also hosted countless guests, offering facilities, services, and amenities to meet the diverse needs of the campus community.

JOB SUMMARY

The Vice President for Student Affairs serves as the senior executive on campus responsible for non-academic aspects of student life for undergraduate and graduate students. The Vice President has primary responsibility for the leadership, management, strategic direction, policy development and administrative oversight of the Division, as well as the programming, planning and delivery of extracurricular services to the student body.

Direct reports to the Vice President include but are not limited to the Assistant Vice President (AVP) for Student Union Affairs, the AVP for Campus Life, and the AVP and Chief Wellness Officer.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

•  Doctorate degree from an accredited institution is required, with a minimum of five (5) years of demonstrated leadership experience in student affairs and/or higher education settings.

•  Proven ability to collaborate broadly to promote and support student success across all colleges.

•  Demonstrated experience in strategic planning, crisis management, conflict resolution, as well as a willingness to explore external partnerships that will enhance institutional efficiencies and the student experience.

•  Demonstrated history of promoting ethical behavior and social responsibility, and the capacity to lead, work, and communicate effectively with staff, students, faculty, alumni and other external agencies and institutions.

•  Demonstrated leadership abilities, including strong and effective interpersonal skills, the abilities to relate to people, to manage resources, and to delegate responsibilities and apportion authority.
